.... in case I just gave some of you a heart attack from the title, its not MY baby shower, its my co-worker's. First off, I never knew that guys got invited to these things, but apparently, these days everyone gets invited. This baby shower made me feel super old for some reason. First off, I had to buy baby stuff for the gift. I went to Toys R Us with another coworker after work, and once I stepped in, I suddenly realized that I haven't been in a Toys R Us for at least 10 years!! After running into at least 3 kids, and hit by two foam balls, we made our way to the Baby section, where I purchased an over priced Mobile (sp?) for the crib. I almost made it back to the register before I passed the "Nerf" section. Then I realized... I could buy all the toys I always wanted, but could never get!! After frolicking for about 7 minutes in the boys section, looking at the new cars, nerf guns, and legos, my coworker said I was just a big kid, and left me to my craziness. I ended up buying a Nerf gun.... the Maverick... a rotating 6 shooter. .... I don't want to grow up, I AM a Toys R Us kid. Although I do like my other "grown-up toy" a lot too... aka my VW GTI Secondly, at the baby shower, there were a lot of kids, cause my coworkers all brought their families. I felt super old when they introduced me to their kids.... I was UNCLE eusebius..... UNCLE!!!! I think that just added 10 years to my life, and probably a few gray hairs. Well, at least this "uncle" has a Nerf 6 shooter, that he practices with everyday. |
